Hello Nelson,
Adding a new file to source control  is quite simple, depending on which module you are using, VCS File integration (no server side objects) or Team Coding .

VCS File integration (no Team Coding)

-          Set the Default VCS in Options-Source control (e.g SVN). Make sure configuration is correct.

-          Log in to Source Control using the 'Select Version Control' button on the Team Coding Toolbar.

-          Open the editor. Load a file or create a new file and save it.

-          The "Add to Source Control" button will become enabled.

-          You can now Add , Check in or Check out files as appropriate.

Using Team Coding to Control Files  (Add to Source control button will never become enabled in this case)

-          You must be using Code Collections and have set up at least one Code Collection Item with a 'Files' mask type. Set mask type as appropriate e.g *.sql, MYPROJ%.sql etc.

-          Open Editor. Load or Save a file with a filename that matches the file mask.

-          Check Out button will be enabled on the Team Coding toolbar. The Editor will be read only because the file is controlled by Team Coding.

-          Check out the file. This is when the file is added to source control.

-          You can now edit the file and check back in when done.

If you use Team Coding to control files (i.e if any Code Collection item is set up with a File mask) , VCS File integration will be disabled until you end the Connection to the Team Coding controlled database.

I hope this helps

Stephen
